Fun in the Forest
We are really enjoying using the woodland at Hegg Hill Farm. The children get to see the live stock each week - we particularly like the motley crew of chickens. We fed them some tomatoes on our walk round to the woods and they really liked them.
Being at Hegg's Hill has meant that we have been able to put up our canopies - these are 2 ex-military parachutes. They are very big and are fantastic at keeping us dry in wet conditions.
Year 3 have explored the site extensively and are getting to grips with the lay out of the woods. Over the last 3 weeks they have been building dens; whittling sticks; making a bug hotel; creating snow men; and last week the boys made a mud slide. This was a great hit!
Whilst at Forest School the children always have a hot snack and plenty of hot drinks. Last week they had the option of tomato soup or bacon rolls, which they all enjoyed very much.
