St. Mary's Church

Frittenden Church of England Primary School (VC) is a very short walk from St Mary’s Church. We love having the church on our doorstep and like to visit/ make use of the space at relevant opportunities. This tends to be for curriculum visits and services, at special times of the year, for example, Christmas, Easter, Harvest Festival etc. Families are invited to attend these times of worship.

Our Rector, Rev. Pete, is a familiar friendly face at school. He regularly visits for collective worship; to support the teaching of Christianity and the RE curriculum; or to collect his children!

In addition to this, members of St Mary's (Frittenden) and Trinity Church (Sissinghurst) congregations visit the school every other Thursday morning for 'Open the Book' collective worship. Together they act out stories from The Bible for the children; explore the meaning of the story; and the children learn a new song. It is one of the many highlights of the week.

St. Mary's Church is central to village and school life. It has an interesting history and was extensively restored in the 1840s. The rectors have been recorded, continually, since 1279. Further information about the church, including photographs, events and contact details, can be found on the following website: www.frittendenchurch.org.uk
